• Golf Courses: Two 18 hole championship golf courses. The two courses are private member owned facilities. The first of the two courses that make up the Carolina Trace private golf community is the Lake Course. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., it opened for play in 1971. The course winds around Lake Trace and several ponds, providing the Jones hallmarks of “easy bogeys and difficult pars.” The second eighteen at this North Carolina golf community is the Creek Course, which was also designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. opened for play in 1979. As with the Lake Course, Creek reflects Jones' hallmarks of “easy bogeys and difficult pars.” The rolling terrain features streams interspersed among the 18 holes, providing players with dramatic views and shot-making challenges. Most notable the third, fourth, 15th, and 16th holes all require careful "navigation" of the streams and ponds, while the 18th green sits at one of the most dramatic junctures on the property - a spit of land surrounded on three sides by water.
• Clubhouse: Along with the highly-acclaimed Lake and Creek golf courses, the hub of Carolina Trace Country Club's social activities is its 20,000-square-foot clubhouse. It houses meeting space, the golf pro shop, a full-service bar and casual and formal dining rooms. The Clubhouse is alive with activity throughout the day and in the evening. Bridge clubs, exercise groups, chorus and special program rehearsals, luncheons, and committee meetings are all held at the club in addition to the many special events. The Club is the site for entertainment and special events such as dinner dances, Casino Night, and a monthly DJ Dance Club. Usually planned by a Social Committee of member volunteers, these range from casual to formal and are generally held in the Main Dining Room, which seats up to 250 people. There are also popular holiday activities planned at New Year's, Easter, Memorial Day, July Fourth, Labor Day, and Christmas. Events for children and grandchildren include Easter egg hunts and visits from Santa Claus.
